Happy Monday! Here’s my latest for SI dot com: Bo Jackson Won't Sign This Card. Why?

A few months back, I thought it would be fun to ask my audience to all send notecards to Topps as part of their No Purchase Necessary (NPN) program, and see if we received anything back:

We have our first return! Longtime commenter and contributor to the community Juhosevic (Instagram | Mantel) sent me a message at the end of the week that after sending an NPN request to Topps:

He received a response:

He had requested free Topps Chrome, but in my video I think I forgot to mention that your request needs to be sent within a specific timeframe of the release. Good to see that while Topps didn’t honor that, they still sent something!

🎬 Channel Highlights From the Past Week

For starters, I did more than 3 videos for the first time this year.

It didn’t get as many views as it should, but the highlight of the week is this video about what may be the best bobblehead collection in the world:

In retrospect, it should’ve been a newsletter Collector Stories edition instead, like I’d originally planned.

I held onto this video for a while just because of the tone of it:

It’s actually the tone of the video that I want to do far less. As expected, it got a ton of views. But not the kind of views I want.

Same with this one:

The gentleman featured in that video is threatening me on various platforms, which isn’t a great feeling. He doesn’t have anything to stand on, of course, but that’s not the tone I want to go for.

I still want to highlight those stories because it’s important to bring awareness to them, but it feels like the PSA situation. Can I highlight them more on Sundays instead of dedicating their own video? Probably.

I have a couple, but the most noteworthy is probably this one:

I’ll have a nostalgia video with some other pickups when I receive them in the mail.

👻 Brief Horror Movie Review of the Week

I watched Zombieland this week for the first time in 15 years, and it’s so much fun. It was inspired by Shaun of the Dead, and I have to wonder why there aren’t more like these. Also, I need to watch Shaun of the Dead again.

4 out of 5 stars.
