Oliver’s interest, naturally, was piqued.
Here we have a woman likely in her 80s, who said she collected many years ago. She was interested in showing him her collection, and he agreed to meet her at her church.

1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle and others
1963 Topps Hank Aaron & Bob Uecker rookie card
1953 Topps Jackie Robinson and others
1958 Topps Mickey Mantle and others
1963 Topps rookies of Pete Rose and many others
1958 Topps Roberto Clemente, and Roger Maris rookie card

1948-49 Leaf Warren Spahn and others

1941 Play Ball Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx, and others

1948-49 Leaf Stan Musial, Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Phil Rizzuto, and others
1948-49 Leaf Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, Honus Wagner, and others
1933 Goudey Babe Ruth and 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig

I’ll update in a future newsletter if and when I get any updates on this.

Jason Vass, the biggest Ken Griffey Jr. collector in the world, tweeted out an explanation for why he collects the way he does. I felt he could’ve stopped after the first reason:
