1991 Fleer Baseball Cards: Terrible Or Underrated?
Plus a bummer of a Vermont Collection update
Happy Monday, collectors! I hope you had a spectacular weekend. The “Is A PSA 9 Card Bad?” newsletter will come on Wednesday or Thursday. In the meantime, here’s my latest for SI: 6 Things To Do With Your Childhood 1980s Baseball Card Collection
Twitter/X user RetroCardSnaps asks something that shouldn’t be controversial:
People love to hate on this set but is 1991 Fleer really that bad?

Yes, this set is terrible! It’s atrocious! Look at that color! All of the cards were that color! Exclamation points!
Aside from the color, there were no notable rookies in the set. The most valuable card is reportedly a dual card featuring Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds:
And is it just me, or does it look like Griffey is running out a pop fly in his base card?
One of my YouTube commenters presents an alternative view, though:
And John is right! The Pro Visions set is sick:
Great art by Terry Smith.
In summary: the base set is terrible in every way, but the Pro-Visions makes up for it.

Vermont Collection Update
As you may know, I had planned on selling the remaining items from The Vermont Collection on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, I need to cancel that sale indefinitely due to unexpected family commitments. It will be a while before I consider it again.
Honestly, I’m probably done with obtaining collections unless it looks like far less work. I put 60-80 hours into this one, and it was a blast. But I hate packaging, selling, and shipping. I’d much rather be writing and creating videos.
🗣️ YouTube Comment Of The Week
Mind. Blown.

Either #89 on my ACE100 list, or 89-85
Giveaway winner
Hopefully an Attic Find Friday
Still considering a video on obtaining collection insurance
Newsletters are so much easier for me to do, so I always have 5-10 I’m working on. Sadly, one I was working on that I was excited about seems to have gone bust. A dude in the Sports Card Nonsense Facebook group posted an amazing photo of a sealed wax collection. I reached out to him and he agreed to be featured, and then he answered a bunch of questions and said he’d send photos. But then, before I had a chance to respond, he seems to have either blocked me or deleted his Facebook page.
Other ones I’m working on:
A couple that I don’t want to give away at this point because I don’t want to lose the stories
1990 Topps George Bush story
Are eBay sales down?
Topps and the worsening collation
I am still trying to get a quote from Andy Broome about the newly-discovered T206 card
And more!
I now have 1,110 subscribers, which seems crazy to me since I started this thing earlier this year. But it’s been a blast and I’m excited for where it will go in 2025.
🎬 Channel Highlights From the Past Week
The highlight of my week was definitely the card show at Shriners Auditorium:
I added two cards from the top 15 of my list at one show!
I shared some more cards from that list:
A crazy story:

👻 Brief Horror Movie Review of the Week
No horror movies this week! Sad week.
I did watch the last two episodes of Teacup, and that was pretty good.
